Tyflex was at AWS Summit Johannesburg this year, with our venture Vekta on the ground. As an AWS Partner, the Summit is where we keep our cloud practice current — new services, reference architectures, and how other teams on the continent are actually running workloads.
What we took from it
- Migration keeps getting more boring — in a good way. The tooling for moving databases and servers to AWS has matured to the point where the hard part is planning and validation, not the cut-over itself. That matches what we see on our own projects.
- Security belongs at the foundation. The strongest sessions were about landing zones, guardrails and identity set up once, up front, rather than bolted on later.
- AI is a workload, not a bolt-on. The teams getting value are starting from one focused use case and a governed account structure, not a big-bang rollout.
How this feeds back into our work
