Tyflex joined the first TSC Printronix Connect partner event in South Africa — "One Brand, One Vision, One TSC" — alongside the wider ecosystem around the brand, including 42Gears, GS1 and BarTender.
Why we were there
We supply TSC and Printronix label and barcode printers as part of our Auto-ID line, and we install and support them on the floor for customers running manufacturing and warehouse operations. Connect was a chance to see the current hardware range hands-on, talk through roadmap with the manufacturer, and pressure-test what we recommend to clients.
What we looked at
- TSC RE310 — a compact industrial desktop printer for steady label volumes in receiving, dispatch and production line-side use.
- TSC DA220 Linerless — linerless direct-thermal printing that cuts label waste and the downtime of swapping rolls, aimed at high-throughput picking and shipping.
- TSC T30 — a mobile printer for staff who label away from a fixed station — stock takes, put-away, yard work.
- TSC TH240 with RFID — desktop printing plus RFID encoding for teams moving to tagged inventory and asset tracking.
Two themes ran through the demos: traceable manufacturing — printing and verifying labels at each step so a batch can be tracked end to end — and smart warehousing — linerless and mobile printing to keep pick-and-pack moving.
Where this fits for our customers
Most of the value is unglamorous: the right printer for the duty cycle, ribbons and media that match the labels, and BarTender or an ERP integration set up so operators just press print. For customers weighing RFID, the practical entry point is usually a single high-value process — asset registers, returnable containers, or work-in-progress on one line — before any site-wide rollout.
